Just Wow— The Glen Campbell Memorial at the CMA Country Music Hall of Fame.

Wow, wow, wow….I was fortunate to get an invitation to the Glen Campbell Memorial earlier this evening. It was at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville… What an awesome tribute to Glen.  No cameras were allowed, which is why hardly any pics.

AND…not a single thought of politics. Very Refreshing.

Emceed by Jane Seymore, Performances by The Beach Boys, Brad Paisley and the amazing Jimmy Webb, plus Carl Jackson and others.

Highlight for me was Jimmy Webb —a ridiculously talented and legendary songwriter. He played piano with no accompaniment and performed Amazing Grace and Wichita Lineman.

Not a bad lineup for a free concert….

There was a lot of love — Glen’s wife Kim is a warrior… and a strong Christian woman. In fact — a LOT of the folks in that place were strong Christians

And I thank Uncle LD for getting me the invitation.

Jimmy Webb performing Wichita Lineman. Awesome stuff

The pic is of Uncle LD, me, Dewey’s wife Malva and my cousin Dewey.

Very fortunate you are, indeed. What an epic event to have attended. Thanks for the report.

My parents loved Glen Campbell, such a fine boy. Growing up I was the remote to change the station to the Good Time Hour. We loved that show. I would sit right down front of the Tv w/my big crush on Glen, he could make a young gal swoon. I would play his albums over and over. We have lost another great American talent and icon. May Glen be resting in peace and playing for the Angels. Prayers for Glen’s family, friends, and caretakers.

“And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time”. Jimmy Webb, Wichita Lineman. One of the greatest lyrics ever written.

I’m not a country western guy, but always liked Glen Campbell. Many may not know, but Glen’s talent and 6 month’s on tour, offered him equal financial membership as a member of the Beach Boys. Instead Glen followed his heart, and his interpretation of Country Western. My father, 45 years my senior loved “Gentle on my Mind”, while I preferred the random thoughts of “Wichita Lineman”
